THEORY PAPERS
Applied Theory Paper
In my first theory paper, I examined my family genogram and focused on one of the twenty guiding questions from A Family Genogram Workbook to explore in depth. I selected Question 17, which addresses the role and function of spirituality, and reflected on how my faith has influenced my emotional system. By integrating personal insights, scholarly research, and Bowen Family Systems Theory, this assignment enhanced my understanding of how generational patterns and beliefs shape both identity and emotional development.
Attachment Theory and Emotional Regulation
In my second theory paper, I examined the impact of the parent-child relationship on a child's attachment development. This paper features an introduction to attachment theory, an overview of its key concepts, and a practical application of the theory to real-world parent-child interactions. This assignment deepened my understanding of how early relational experiences influence emotional development and highlighted the significance of nurturing secure attachments in child life practice.
